I can’t believe I’m saying this, but the TRACKSUIT is back. I grew up living in my Juicy Couture Tracksuit as a teen, so when I saw Ventements collaborated with Juicy Couture for Spring 2017, I was pumped an ode to my childhood was being recognized and hopefully making a comeback. What’s crazy is Juicy Couture is now sold at Kohls, you can buy track pants for $37 – a steal from the $98 and up the separates used to sell for – you can read more about the evolution of Juicy Couture in The Glitter Plan if you’re interested like I was, but lets get back to my point about tracksuits. I’ve been noticing them a lot lately when shopping, so I decided to embrace it, but dress it up, of course. I think I really gravitated towards the idea of a tracksuit, because of the velour fabric. I find it very similar to velvet – a major FALL trend this year – so if you’re not into velvet, I think velour is a more wearable way to bring that vibe into your Fall wardrobe. To dress up the tracksuit a bit, I decided to combine velvet and velour together. Because I live in LA I decided to opt for a track suit with a shorts, so I picked up this Kendall + Kylie set at Pac Sun. There was something about the navy and burgundy that I liked, plus the burgundy camisole and velvet booties really dresses the look up. I think this outfit is something that can be worn on a night out, but for a more casual on the go look, you can easily swap out the camisole for a tee and rock sneakers instead of booties. Velour tracksuits are fun to experiment with it’s super easy and wearable for day and night, but when you’re over wearing it out, it’ll be a great lounge outfit when you’re home.
