THE BAGGY BLAZER

IMLVH_LizbethHernandez_BaggyBlazer

I’ve slowly been gathering FALL FASHION INSPO to share with you babes. I’ll be sharing a couple trends I’m loving and how I will be incorporating them into my wardrobe this Fall. I always love adding pieces to freshen up my favorite basics.  But, I’ll be honest, you don’t always have to buy new pieces to freshen up your favorite basics either. I love gathering inspo to see how I can re-style some of my most loved pieces too. So, this post is about that and how I’m reviving this Storets baggy blazer

While, searching for some new FALL inspo I noticed the baggy blazer. An oversized blazer that looks one part I stole this jacket from my Dad or Grandpa and one part badass-cool. A baggy blazer looks 3-5 sizes too big and I’m digging it. It makes an outfit look a bit polished, but badass-cool. So, I thought it would be fun to share some inspo (from the catwalk and my Insta feed) and 2 trendy takes on how I style the baggy blazer.

Because it’s still warm in California I opted for bicycle shorts and a denim skirt. Bicycle shorts have been all over the place lately. I love the way they look with a baggy t-shirt or sweatshirt, but with my petite frame I need a bit more shape, so I’m digging the way it looks with a sports bra or crop top. But, I’ll be honest, unless I’m heading to a workout I’m not really into just rocking bicycle shorts and a bra top, so I decided to add the baggy blazer to polish it up. It’s such a casual look, but pulling together an all black look definitely it look way more chic. If I swap out the sneakers for heels or booties this would be such a fun date night or GNO look.

The second look I have is a graphic tee with black denim skirt. This skirt is a new buy that I ordered during Redone’s Labor Day sale.  I have a blue vintage levis skirt already, but ya’ll know I have quite the levis collection, so had to get a black denim one. I paired the skirt with a designer graphic tee, which is definitely another fun trend.  They’re such a statement piece and versatile too. You can wear it dressy and casual, but I think the denim skirt with the blazer brings both. I wish this Balenciaga tee was authentic, but I couldn’t convince myself to spend $500 for a tee shirt, so I got this bootleg one off Etsy. To polish up the look I added a pair of booties and a leather belt to add some shape. I think the juxtaposition of a short skirt and a baggy blazer makes the blazer look flirty and cool. If skirts aren’t your thing I think the baggy blazer would pair well with a dress, a great pair of skinny jeans, or your favorite leggings.

I’ve shared some baggy blazer options for ya below:

Hope this post gives you some fresh inspo for Fall. And, stay tuned, I will be sharing my favorite fall trends real soon.
