My parents taught me how to enjoy tequila. I’m Mexican, so that’s NORMAL AF. A shot can help clear the first signs of a sore throat, one can help you celebrate an accomplishment or help you chill-ax after a stressful day or week. Enjoying tequila is nothing to look down upon in my family. I even learned the best type of tequila to use for a Margarita from my Uncle.
While I was visiting my uncle in Mexico City a couple years a go, he took some time to educate me that REPOSADO is BEST tequila and the only tequila that makes a proper margarita. I chuckled a bit and rolled my big eyes, but shortly after a margarita was handed to me. Now I ONLY drink Reposado margaritas. Another tequila drink I learned how to drink from my cousin’s wife in Tijuana was a Paloma. A classic Paloma is Mexican SQUIRT (yes, the soda) with Tequila. It is so refreshing and yummy. Definitely a fun summer drink in my opinion. But, I’m not a big soda drinker and I like fresh grapefruit, so my Mom (the cocktail QUEEN) and I came up with a fun and super easy Paloma concoction to enjoy using Pueblo Viejo Tequila.
