Sometimes you need a pair of shoes or a piece of clothing (in this case both in one) that makes you feel kickass, badass, and that you can take over the world. That’s why I love fashion, because a pair of shoes or a new blazer, even a bag, can be that pretty and sparkly distraction to get you through something.
This week I’m getting through a short lived romance, that although ended on amicable terms, annoyingly bums me out. I’m a little frustrated that I spent energy on him, when he wasn’t in the space to date me, happy that I opened myself up to someone (it had been 6 years), but annoyed that I’m dwelling on ending it, because if I’m being really honest with myself, it was the right thing to do.
I know God has my back through this all and I’m trusting his plan, but I thank him for fashion too, because it has been my go to right now. It’s such a beautiful distraction, when dealing with emotions. I’m a big believer, that emotions and your mental well-being need to be dealt with, because shopping isn’t a healthy end-all answer to get you through shit, but it can be that beautiful distraction and happy place for the time being.
Church, Yoga (my girl Savvy teaches an amazing restorative class), venting to family and my best friends (shout out to Amanda, Hannah, Ashley, Andrea, and Taylor), and mediation (love the calm app) have been my go-to ways of dealing at the moment (side note: this experience has inspired a FULL POST on dating tips), but right now a pair of Boot Pants are helping me through. I don’t wish anything bad towards him, I wish him the best, so the only revenge I’m embracing are these Tamara Mellon Sweet Revenge Boot pants.
Boot pants sounds so so crazy and random, but from first hand experience, they’re kind of amazing!! These Sweet Revenge boots were gifted to me from Tamara Mellon and they’re definitely my new favorites!! I’m a big over the knee boot fan, they surprising work on my small frame and make outfits look way more cool, but boot pants are a whole other badass piece.
They’re pretty damn sexy and beautifully made (made in Italy). I received the brown suede, but they come in black suede, and black nappa leather. I decided to keep it simple with an Oversized White
Boyfriend tee and my new favorite plaid Windsor over-sized blazer. They’d definitely rock with a baggy sweater, like this Oversized Boyfriend Sweater and definitely super chic with this Forever 21 polk dot tunic.
If you’ve never heard of Tamara Mellon, you’ve definitely heard of her first shoe brand Jimmy Choo. She was the co-founder of Jimmy Choo, but left the luxury brand and created her own brand Tamara Mellon. She has so many cute styles: these slouchy boots are so on trend, these pony hair booties are a sassy statement, but these leather sock booties are a great everyday style. Super thankful for these statement boot pants, because they’re the only revenge I’ll be embracing as I deal with my recent dating experience.
Thank you Tamara Mellon!
