There was a point in my life, when I couldn’t stand wearing heels. They were shoes meant for special occasions only, i.e. dances, family functions, charity events, but today, heels are an everyday option, they’re second skin and perfect for any occasion. At that time, the same opinion applied to purses too. Big designer bags were a must, I wouldn’t ever be caught using a small bag. It was a time, when bigger was better and actually a waste.

I love that we live in a time that embraces individuality and proper fit. It embraces quality over quantity, but lets be real, not everyone embraces that. I’m getting better at dressing for me and what I like and not getting so swayed with the designer stuff, unless it’s on sale, then all bets are off. I love heels, but I love my loafers too. I love a large handbag, but I love a great clutch more. My outfit is proof. The loafers and clutch were recent additions, getting back to my roots and changing things up. The loafers were a black friday purchase. I love a great leather sole shoe. The way it forms to your feet and when it gets too broken in, you just have to drop it off at the shoe cobbler to get it re-soled. A leather sole shoe is a shoe that keeps on giving, really. The clutch is made by a friend of mine and her design partner. It has that Hermes flair, yet not made in FRANCE, but the beautiful Los Angeles. It’s croc-embossed leather, the perfect size for my 5’1 frame, and perfectly roomy for a wallet, keys, cell, and lip stuff.

Style and fashion evolves, just like we do, and it’s always fun to throw it back and change it up.
