Ya’ll know my go-to outfit is vintage denim and comfy tees, but, lately I’ve been so inspired to wear pieces that instantly elevate and polish a look. Especially, my favorite denim. Maybe I’m getting older, but lately I’ve been craving a more polished look – with an edge, of course. Right now my go-to has been silky and satin pieces, so I had  to share some styling inspiration with you. I’ve learned silky and satin pieces are such an easy way elevate a look.

A couple weeks ago,  I wore a silk dress shirt with my favorite long denim shorts, to a Laura Mercier event. I loved the juxtaposition of silk and denim together. I got so many compliments, which I think had to do with the silky top – it totally polished up the denim. All I did was tie a black silk button-down top  around my waste. It was cheeky and fun and perfect for a night out.

Another day I wore a white silky-satin bodysuit with a pair of white denim. I love a white on white look, but the the mix of texture (denim + satin) worked so well. Chic strikes again. I will say the one I’m wearing isn’t the best fitting body suit I’ve had. But, what can you expect for $14? A pair of high waist denim definitely hid the funky fitting bottom. I did find some better options for you babes, but still shared the one I’m wearing below if you really love it.

A silky satin piece will always be a great option for a dressy look. There is something elegant and sexy. Definitely a great way to embrace your femininity.  The white dress I’m wearing is that sexy little white dress that I think every babe needs in their closet. Unfortunately, the one I’m wearing is sold out, but found some other options for ya!

And, if you’re feeling a little uninspired (what I like to call lazy)  I’d opt for a pair of trousers. This leopard pair from Topshop are super comfy, but chic, and perfect for those days you want to rock sweat pants and sneakers. Definitely my kind of outfit, when it’s the time of the month. These pants are definitely a chic-er version of sweats. I love them paired with a white body-suit and sneakers, but they can be dressy with a cute black bodysuit and lace up heels.

So, next time you’re shopping and want to try something new try picking up a silky and satin piece. Maybe save it for something special or try pairing it with denim to instantly elevate your look.
