So, my latest Youtube video is about my recent RENT THE RUNWAY experience – a rental service that allows you to rent outfits and accessories for any occasion.
This video isn’t sponsored by them, but RTR came in clutch a couple weeks ago, so I had to share. Back in July I had a wedding to attend, but didn’t have the money to buy 2 new I dresses I needed for the 4 day festivities. I could have totally bought full priced dresses with the help of my credit card, but I’ve been really inspired to not use my credit card for purchases I can’t truly afford. I’m a BIG believer that you don’t need to spend a lot of money to look and feel your best. It definitley takes a bit of strategy and some shopping hacks to make it happen, but it’s doable and I think RTR could be a really helpful service for a lot of you babes, who are similar to me, and are trying to be a little bit more frugal.
I have a love hate with buying dresses for special occasions.
- I think it’s a real treat to buy a formal dress, because I feel like a princess with an elegant dress on. I stand a little taller and just feel really good about myself.
- But, They can be really expensive and I ALWAYS end up wearing the dress once – maybe twice if another occasion pops up, but these formal type dresses tend accumulate and become a 1 time only piece in my closet.
That’s where Rent the Runway lured me in, but was totally unsure about it, because from first glance their RTR had a department store vibe to me and came off a little too vanilla for my taste – I like things that are different, have a bit of an edge, but I was really compelled by their service and was really desperate to find something to wear for this wedding, plus the 20% off your first order was really enticing, which applies to ALL of your babes trying out the service for the first time.
And, I will proudly admit, I was super impressed by RTR.
