LACE UP BODYSUIT

IMLVH

I’m excited to have a fashion post for you, especially one that will be kicking off FALL fashion on ze blog.  If you follow Southern California based fashion bloggers, then you’re aware that we don’t really have seasonal weather, it’s Summer weather almost all year around. But, I’m happy to share it’s getting cool enough to bring out long-sleeves, denim, and jackets, so I can share fall fashion posts. YAY!

To kick off fall, I thought I’d start with a lace-up body suit. Givenchy designed one in their SS2015 collection and Reformation introduced the Avalon Body Suit, but both carry a hefty price tag for a trend that is a wee bit sexy and one that can’t be worn EVERDAY. I really loved the sexy-chic 70s vibe of the bodysuit, especially the gromet detail of the Givenchy one, and since affordable fashion is my thing I had to find more affordable versions.

NastyGal came out with the Bad to the Bone Lattic Bodysuit that looks exactly like the Givenchy, but for $78. Technically it’s still affordable, especially if you’re seeking the Givenchy one, but the Lattice Bodysuit is the same price as the Reformation Avalon Bodysuit, and still a bit steep in my opinion. Through my daily Instagram scroll, I saw Luna B Boutique was selling a version for $38.99, so I bought it. I originally bought it in white, but it was a little too sheer to rock braless, so I bought the heather gray instead. They didn’t have the black in stock at the time, but I like the grey a bit more. Sadly, they don’t have it anymore, but I did find some other options for ya online. Since the bodysuit is such a sexy piece I knew I wanted to pair it with denim to balance the look out. The pair I’m wearing are Levis’s super skinny high-rise and they’re going to be a new staple on rotation. I Love Love Love the fit – lifts and fits in all the right places.

Lastly, lets talk about the suede booties. I bought them back in May at Neiman’s Last Call; Neiman Marcus’s outlet. It’s my secret spot for scoring designer shoes for the price of a pair of Steve Madden’s or Dolce Vita’s – it’s where I scored my Isabel Marant Sneakers for $200. My booties are by Alexandre Birman and I’ve been dying to bring them out. I wish they still had them for you to score, but I did find the Katy Suede Tassle Boot online for full pice in tan, but they’re WAAAAY out of my budget. A pointy toe lace up bootie is trending this fall, so I found some great alternatives out there for ya. I would love to get them sans fringe, but they do add a fun touch. To finish off the look I rocked my NastyGal Virtex Block sunnies and my FAVORITE Kooples leather jacket!

I really enjoyed the body suit – it’s a fresh piece to rock for a night out, an option to pair with a skirt, or even layer a tank underneath if you want to wear it more often!
