I came across DesignHistory, when I won an Instagram contest they were running that earned my best friend and I matching sweaters. I had never heard of the brand and loved my sweater (the bestie did too), but I became a big fan when I found the grey cashmere sweater I’m wearing. I bought it at Last Call Neiman Marcus and loved how perfectly cropped and baggy the sweater was, plus the color was such a classic. I will say, it took some convincing, because it was on sale for $90, even though it was 50% off, but thankfully my best friend was there to remind me, it was so me. After that, I couldn’t believe I forgot one of my favorite fashion tips my parents passed on to me, which was to always invest in a cashmere sweater. A cashmere sweater never goes out of style and if you take care of it you can have it for many years. I can tell I don’t regret the purchase, because I’ve worn it every week since I scored it after Christmas, but I am a bit annoyed it is now on sale now for $75.
I wanted to share how to style a cropped cashmere sweater for work or if you need a more conservative outfit option. I paired the sweater with high-waist wide-leg pants from Forever 21 and a coat. I think this look is very polished and chic and such an easy outfit to throw together. I love how polished and expensive this outfit looks, even though the pants and bag were around $20. And, I really like how the backpack adds a fun and young vibe to a polished and professional outfit. I wish Forever 21 still had my $25 backpack in stock, but I found some similar below! And, I can’t believe how much wear I’ve gotten out of those Virtex sunnies, still the best $20 I’ve spent at NastyGal.
