A new season is upon us, and for me, that means updating my wardrobe (affordably, of course) with some new fashion trends! Updating my wardrobe with a few trends is one of my favorite things to do each season, so I thought it would be fun to share some easy ways I’m bringing in some of my favorite FALL 2017 TRENDS into rotation. I shared a video on How to Style Denim with these Fall Trends on my Youtube channel as well as some other cool style tips and examples of how I’m rocking each piece, so be sure to check that out.
Below you can find the pieces I’m rocking in my Youtube video, some other versions of the trends I’m loving as well as some fashion references that inspired me to embrace these trends for Fall.
Berets are the epitome of Parisian chic. It has been a classic fashion accessory for YEARS and they’re making a revival. They come in a variety of colors and fabrics, even featuring some cool embellishments too. A super easy way to rock them is with a chenille knit sweater, the one I’m wearing is from SisterLB, Citizen of Humanity Rocket High skinny jeans, and Steve Madden Tony Booties, like I did, but a graphic tee and leather jacket, as well as dress (as seen above) are super easy ways to style them too.
Faux Fur is a fun and classic FALL piece to me. I have collected a fun mix of furs and I’m ALWAYS finding a new one to add each season and this Fall I opted for a more casual and toned down Faux Fur style, known as the Teddy Bear Fur. The $30 Forever21 Teddy Bear Jacket I featured in my Youtube video is my favorite, so go check out my How to Style Denim Fall Trends Video. I also shared a cropped leopard faux fur jacket in my video, that I styled with a wax coated cropped Seven For All Mankind Jeans and a Bishop and Young peek-a-boo top, but I’m definitely eyeing a super bright colored faux jacket, like that neon blue one above. I love how it’s paired with a graphic tee, jeans and heels. Faux fur is so easy to pair with denim and I love how cool and unique it looks. But, maybe a statement faux fur jacket is still a little etoo much for you, I say start off with a jacket that has a faux fur collar and ease your way in to something bolder.
Metallic has such a party vibe to me, but I was randomly browsing ZARA.COM and saw a pair of metallic heels paired with a cool pant look and loved it. Check out the Zara look below.
Chinese Laundry reached out to me about styling a pair of heels and I picked out the Selina Ankle Strap Sandal in Fuscia, because of that Zara look. I love how cool they looked paired with Levis and knit sweater, which I shared on Instagram and in my new styling video. Metallic can be a little off putting, but I love the pop it can bring to a simple outfit. If Metallic is a bit too bold for you to wear as a piece of clothing, I’d try a mini metallic bucket bag or a bold lip color, like I shared in my video. The one I’m rocking in my Youtube video is called Black Metal Dahlia.
I wonder if it ever crossed a Greek Fisherman’s mind, that his hat for sailing, would be a must have accessory to the all the cool girls in the world? haha Probs not. But, hats are are great piece to have one hand. They not only protect us from certain weather conditions or greasy hair days, but they look cool and edgy. It’s such an easy way to pull together a jeans look.Kaia Gerber inspired my turtlenack and foxhole distressed Levis look, but rather than pumps, I paired my look with my new Steve Madden Tony Booties.
If I had a favorite plaid, GLEN PLAID would be it. I like how masculine this print is and how rad it looks on females. There are so many plaid styles, but I’m super into the classic blazer and a chic wrap skirt that I picked up from Target. The blazer I’m rocking in my Youtube video was a goodwill score, but I found some affordable versions and some cool glen plaid pieces for ya below!
The Trench is not a revolutionary piece, but in my opinion, a total classic and must have item in every closet (for both males and females too.) It’s the classic way to weather yourself from rain, but looks super cool with jeans, love the white pair I shared in my Youtube video, but also chic with a tee and nice trousers. The one I’m wearing is a faux suede style trench, but there are so many versions to pick from. You can go with a cool grey trench with green accents , a houndstooth plaid version, or pick one with a detachable hoodie. Zara is definitely killing it with the trench choices.
