I have a new favorite spot: CERVETECA.
Mexican is one of my favorite types of food. Well, I’m hispanic, so it’s in my roots, but when I come across Mexican food that is fresh and authentic, I’m one happy girl. Cerveteca is a fairly new spot in the Arts District in Downtown Los Angeles. The food is so true to my roots, but is a mix of American staples, like Kale Salad or Buffalo Wings, with a latin, a sprinkle of asian, with a very fresh twist. My Mom and I thought we were super hungry, so we ordered a lot, which wasn’t a bad thing, because we had great leftovers. We ordered their tangy buffalo wings, ceviche, and tacos (barbacoa, salmon, chicken, and veggie) and washed it down with a couple classes of Watermelon waters – our favorite. Fresh fruit juices are the BESSSST and they had a variety. They also have a raw (fish) bar, great mixed drinks and happy hour, so I’ll be back for that. Oh, they also have Chilaquiles, so I’ll be back for that too. The vibe was rad and very DTLA. I loved the Los Angeles graffiti and the warehouse location, definitely very East Los, and definitely REALLY good. If DTLA is too much of a trek for you, they have a spot in Venice too.
