If you’re in need of a last minute Valentines idea, just remember it’s the simple things that are the best. A handmade card, a framed photo, or a homemade meal. Since I don’t have a significant other, I like to spend Valentines with those that are near and dear to me: my best friends and I’d be cooking a meal for them like I did last weekend. What is great about breakfast is it’s cost efficient and cooking together is a great way to spend time together. We kept it simple with pancakes and eggs, but far from boring. We had banana pancakes topped with strawberries and blueberries and a chicken apple smoked sausage scramble with spinach and zucchini. The food was cooked by yours truly, but how adorable is my bestie’s table setting? She’s an interior designer and a kickass one too. I wish I took pictures of her apartment, it’s a dream. So, when in doubt, just get creative and do something from your heart. It screams louder than a fancy gift. I promise. And, if you want a table that screams Valentines just head to your local craft store and buy everything and everything pink + red. Flowers on the table always add the perfect touch too.
